In the year 1885 there
dawned a new era in the firmament of India's Intellectual,
Emotional and Spiritual Society since the DayanandaAnglo
Vedic (DAV) College trust and management society got registered,
owing to its origin to a group of socially oriented people
in the year 1883 as a befitting tribute to a pious soul
trod upon the earth, MAHARISHI DAYAN AND A SARASWATI (1824-1883).
The society within the parameters set forth by the MAHARISHI
meticulously endeavored to expand its ambit for a revolutionary
change in the arena of education. In its maiden effort
it established its first institution - DAV school, at
Lahore on June 1886 with Late Hansraj as its honorary
Headmaster. Brimmed with a deep sense of denial, unparalleled
patriotic fervor, vivacious devotion and the like minded
people, the movement got a big push to give practical
shape to its very, motto" WORK IS WORSHIP".
Today it is a flourishing society with a scintillating
performance of par excellence, spread not only in the
soil of India but also in abroad, emphasizing the confluence
of Indian thought and culture, with modem technology.
To magnify :
DAV = Faith in eternal
values of Sanatan Vedic Dharma (Education to Build)
+
Study of Modern Language, and Science
Technology (Education to Pay)
Presently, it is the largest non-government
Educational organization in the country managing over
700 Educational Institutions with an incessant effort
of exploring the unending horizon singing the song:
FOR MEN MAY COME
AND MEN
MAY GO
BUT I GO ON FOR
EVER.
LONG LIVE
THY FOR EVER!
