Laurels and Achievement :
Pride of DAV :
The school has been placed in top bracket category in std.X & XII CBSE examinations and in Std.VIII DAV Common Board Examinations in the country over the years. For the Academic excellence, the school has been awarded with “PRIDE OF DAV” Laurels from DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi for last 7 years consecutively.
Master Subhankar Mohapatra makes the state & school proud being the “NATIONAL TOPPER” with all time record of 98.6% in CBSE Std. X Examination’06.
The Chess wizard, Padmini Rout of Std. X- The first girl from Orissa to bag the titles of Asian Junior Chess Champion held at Teheran, 2nd in the National Women-B championship, 4th in the World Youth Championship held at Moscow (Russia), won many National Championships in Junior Chess, first and youngest from the country to retain the Women International Mater (WIM), Gold Medal winner in Common Wealth Games in U-14 Girls category, 6th Position Holder at the World Youth Chess Championship at Turkey, Silver Medal winner in the Asian Youth Chess Championship held at Mumbai, Consecutively three times National Champion, first girl from Orissa & the country to retain the World Youth Chess Championship in Under-14 category held at Vietnam, on October 2008. Somya Shanta Nayak of Std.XII participated as the second from the state & the school in the International Astronomy Olympiad consecutively for two years held at Beijing & Mumbai respectively and bagged medals as the youngest participant of the nation after Ashutosh Sahoo of this school in 2003. This year, he has also qualified along with two others from the Nation to participate in the first international Olympiad in Astrophysics to be held at Chiang Mai, Thailand in December, where he made the country proud by bagging the Gold Medal for the country. The school has also bagged the prestigious International School Terra Quiz-2005 (Soumyashanta Nayak & Aditya Acharya), India’s first International Quiz on environment for schools. Amiya Mallick proudly holds the CBSE National Record in U-16 100mt., 200 mt. & U-14 100 mt. Race, stood First in the National School Games held at Pune, make the state proud by representing the country at the 1st South Asian Junior Athletics Championship held at Colombo, Srilanka recently . In NTSE, one fourth of the total state quota bagged every year by our students. Till now, the school has sent 50 students to different Medical colleges, more than 250 students to IIT, NIT and other leading Engineering colleges, two International Astronomy Olympians, 15 NDA students, 5 students to National School of Law, 10 students to Singapore Airlines (NTU), 5 RDC participants, 150 highflier Olympians, winners of 15 State & National Quiz, 25 Sahara Scholarship awardees and many more.
